Video is a bit lousy but all I had was my tablet. This is my 5 1/2 week old Bourbon red poult, Eve, following me around in the yard.

no babies yet. And I've gotta take my mother to the doctor tomorrow, what do you want to bet...
@Silkie, gestating is 150 days give to take 5 days, so like 5 months.
Ok, so I have to wait clear to the beginning of Sept to see if the fat little hussy pops...lol
I did Cornish cross last year but not moyers, I'm gonna do more cx this year. Have you butchered any cx from moyers? Did any die or did they all make it to weight?
now that I think of it, our meaties from last year were from Moyer's too, they grew out nicely, lost none. This year's group is only a few weeks old, spent their first night outside last night, just in time for the storm, I haven't checked them yet. But the group is looking really good so far.
No baby goats yet, leaving for the doctor shortly,I'm certain that's what she's been waiting for...
BRB, going to look up 'verbose'. Lol
Verbose: talkative, saying much, chatter box. And was my picture posted there?![]()
And yes, she is waiting for you to leave her in peace so she can push out those babies. Now git!! Lol

I have a feeling she's going to just pop it out in some random place while you're running to the gas station to grab some bread. Well, not that exact situation, but you get it.
Maybe I just got lucky or my birds are just that much more awesomer than mostbut I see all the threads about people integrating there babies with each other and older birds and I wonder how my birds survived. I bought 4 @ 1 week old & 3 @ 2weeks old. When I bought them they were all thrown into the same box for the ride home (the place I bought them from had all different breeds in separate brooders so they knew what was what), then when we got home they were all put into the same brooder. Never had any problems of them trying to kill each other or really even picking or pecking or general chicken abuse. The 4 younger ones did get stepped on a couple times by the bigger ones but that's about all that happened.
I think it just depends on the birds. I routinely mix different ages. Right now, my turkey brooder has a 5 1/2 week old, 3 4 week olds, a 3 week old and soon will have 4 1 week olds in there with them. I've been mixing ages since I started. Of course, I always supervise to make sure they get along before leaving them alone. Out in the main coop I have 11 that are a year and a half old, 7 that are 6 months old and 10 that are 8 weeks old and they all get along lol
The easiest way to tell is to count the empty shells. Unless it's a male Rhodebar, then it stands out very clearly.Broody #2 has two chicks under her so far. Looks like one Rhodebar and one Wellsummers but it's hard to tell.![]()
