So thank you Google. http://m.wikihow.com/Hypnotize-a-Chicken apparently it's hypnotizing chickens. And it causes stress.

This is not meant to scold anyone...

Please do not do this to your chickens or any other poultry, because of the way their lungs are in their rib cages, when put in an upside down position and flat on their backs, it puts pressure on the lungs, they can not get the needed oxygen,. I am not sure if they are hypnotized or passed out from lack of oxygen

I love watching bats fly around...I is a little strange though, as most of you know
Not strange at all!!

I love the bats. Seeing them fly around means they are eating bugs!! When my boys were in cub scouts, they made bat houses. I cannot convince my hubby to hang them up. We need the bats, more healthy for everyone with less bugs!

Babies are getting big. Ruth is the New Hampshire, Zippy is the blue copper Maran. Pete still has small tailfeathers but is getting a comb and copper neck feathers. DupliCate has a comb, tailfeathers and copper neck feathers. Cate has tailfeathers, black neck feathers, and little to no comb developing. Neat to watch the differences.

Thanks for responding. I am kind of stuck with replacing the Leghorn chicken that my dog killed. They are open to brown or white leghorns, so I have a little leyway. Could you recommend a place where I may find some adult Leghorns? Thank you so much for your help!

Not sure where in PA you are located but if you're looking for young adults, Moyer's Hatchery near Quakertown sells white leghorn, RIR and red sex link pullets at point of lay.

Their website only shows that they have sexlinks at point of lay, but they do have leghorn chicks.

I suspect it is going to be very hard to find a single leghorn at point of lay.

Thank you very much.Yes, it has been challenging to find 4-6 month old Leghorns. I will contact them tomorrow and see if they can help me.
I am very close to you. Rt 345 and rt 23.
Thanks again!
