Thanks everyone. I had the impression that bumblefoot usually had a large sore with it. I was looking things up and along worth soaking her feet, I think I'm going to give her some tylan since I have a bottle of it laying around and it was mentioned a couple times in what I was reading. She doesn't really have any big scabs but I may try to dig it out.
 
The broodies who hatched 2 weeks or so (5 days apart) have decided that cooperation is the way to go and are actively caring for each others chicks during the day, though they are still in separate areas at night....

Janeway and Jo are both mutts, Jo is a daughter of our first and busiest broody, Gracie.










Lacey with her slightly older chicks, her crew of 10 have been taught to be expert beggars by lacey, who takes begging to a whole new level!




 
@fisherlady. Wow! What a crew you have there. I would love some penciled chickens one day, they are gorgeous. I have to say with raising chickens, having broodies eagerly raise chicks is the most incredible thing to watch. I can't wait until I Have more room and I can have more chickens! My girls still aren't cranking out enough eggs for hubby and I. I have two that are still raising chicks, my Rhodebar is still too young, and one girl is molting. I at most get three eggs a day. Since we are now under 12 hours of sunshine a day, that will probably diminish too.

I am so thankful to have had good broodies this summer, but I do hope they cool it for the winter. :lol:
 
I just finished doing surgery on Ariel's foot. She was not happy at all about it but I think I got the kernel out. She's sporting a lovely gauze bandage now and just laying on my lap. I'm still treating her with Tylan as an extra precaution. She pooped on me twice during the operation! But I think she's going to start feeling better here over the next couple days. My poor girl! I'm going to keep soaking her foot and changing her bandage, probably twice a day and as soon as she stops limping, I'll probably let her go back outside with everyone.
