Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

These guys showed up a couple days ago. They are still here. I called the farm camp up the road to ask if they were theirs and they said they have been hanging around there for a year. They said the white ones {royal palms?) just showed up about a month ago. Not really sure what kind the dark ones are, possibly wild, although I can approach within about 10 feet.

I guess they heard mine and decided to investigate.

That is so cool! I think I would be luring them into a pen for 'safe keeping' LOL

I thought about taking one of my turkeys in for a picture with Santa but, being at the mall, that might be a bit crazy lol
I heard on the radio this morning that someplace is letting people take pictures of their pets with Santa. They said they need to be on a leash because they must be assuming people will take their dog. I am having ideas...

First thought; I collected eggs right before dark last night (which is, what? Noon?) so despite the low number of eggs, I am wondering if today's five means that my fifth girl finally began laying again! She and another went broody about three months ago. The other started back up after about six weeks.
Second, I so wanted to bring my turkeys to Super Pets, and let them walk around drumming at the dogs. Someday maybe.

Third, a woman in NY had a wild tom that sat on her lap for about a month before a neighbor reported her. The game warden determined she was innocent of luring or holding the turkey (she eventually gave him a covered dog run to sleep in) but did have to take him away.

Well we had a hawk attack today, heard some ruckus outside and went to investigate, I saw the hawk and hollered at DH and he and Mindy headed for it, Mindy got there first and it took off when it saw her, she chased it as it went up through the trees till it was off property. Last time she actually was able to get ahold of some tail feathers, so it maybe remembered and didn't try to stick around this time.
Thankfully the cockerel it had pinned wasn't hurt too severely, we brought it in for first aid and let it recover for a few hours in the hospital pen but it seems fine other than some puncture wounds around the head. He is back in the coop tonight.

Been a strange day, highs and lows to say the least...hawk attack, but no great injury, then a nice visit with a nice couple who bought some birds from us...
But then a phone call about a member of DH's family, his nephew suffered a massive MI and passed away. His father (DH'S oldest brother) just passed away in June from the same. It is going to be a rough holiday for the family.

Wow :( I'm sorry for the loss.
