Even without chicken, I was like that yesterday after shoveling snow.

By the way, the links in your thread to the old website don't work anymore. I tried to show my son chicken pictures and found they didn't work.
Thanks, I just removed the dead links. I had forgotten they still pointed to the old website. Now I need to get breed description pages up on the new site.

I *thought* I was in reasonably good shape, but after shoveling most of today, I'm not so sure. I'm dreading tomorrow morning when I expect to pay for all that.

Hey guys! I feel so bad for being so inactive. I skim and lurk though.

My bantam cochin went broody and it just so happens I have ducklings hatching next weekend... so momma will come inside and raise the babes in the garage.

It snowed a little here.

That looks like the scene at our house, and the farm. Fortunately, they have a huge, tractor mounted snow blower at the farm. It's about 12 ft wide and chews through a snow drift like nothing I've ever seen before. They used it to make a path through a corn field so they could spread manure because the spreader was too low to the ground to get through the snow.

I can't believe how that winds blew snow everywhere. I was scooping it out of nestboxes today!

I think there was only 1 casualty, a Welsummer pullet got it's feet frozen and they are pretty swollen. I expect she will lose some part of her feet from frostbite. Other than that and a few frostbitten combs on some roos, everyone looks pretty good.

The free range guineas were not very happy. For most it was their first real snow and they were perched on roofs and farm equipment shrieking at me and each other. I bet they will have a tough time finding food too, they are not used to going into the barn with the cows like the chickens do. Around cows there is always some food to be found.

This was the first time my ducks have ever 'put themselves to bed' successfully, by which I mean they crossed the driveway and went into their little room in the barn.

Usually they have to be coerced and there are always two or three that make a real production of it. Not tonight! They were happy to play in the snow while the sun was out but they'd clearly had enough.

@chippysmom327 , good luck with your mixed family! I secretly hope that my rescue mallard decides to hatch some eggs this spring. Because I need more ducks, right??

Spray with liquid permethrin I think that's the spelling and put poultry dust in there coop and replace bedding 4. Wash chickens feet 5 spray feet with liquid permethrin 6. Dip feet in kerosene 7 rub Vaseline on feet and roosting pole If any body has any ideas I would love to here your answers does anybody think it's over kill

The vaseline on the roosting bar ay be a bit of a slipping hazard, you could probably rub the roost bar with a rag soaked in kerosene instead, it would soak into the pores of the wood but still allow some traction
