roada...right now,we are looking at getting 2 barred rocks.....2 Speckled sussex....and the other two others will be either Australorps silver laced wyandotte, black sex link or welsumer. Unless someone else has a better suggestion for the last 2.

I hear that a lot of hatchery Silver Laced Wyandottes are not nearly as pretty the ones you can get from a breeders' . But, if I were you and decided on Myers--they are one of the few (if not the only) hatchery that has partridge rocks which are on my drool...I mean dream list.

I really like partridge rock's looking, unfortunately , they are very broody. I cannot have a rooster, so a broody hen only makes me feel guilty to not let her hatch. My dream breed is buff orpington, but i just cannot have them for the same reason. I know Meyer has partridge rocks, and Myers drop order from them. Not sure if Myers has them though, because they have limited layer breeds available.

They sent me a,list of chicks that,would be available for the week of the 14th I just have not had time to call them and being my first flock I am not sure what I want the last two chicks,to be. My girlfriend really would like a silver or golden wyandotte

That's true. There's a lady in State Collage that breeds wyandottes. I think it's Nittany Wyandottes.

Do you want the eggs from Auroradream26? I don't know if she's coming to Altoona before I leave on Tuesday morning. If she can bring the eggs to me, I can bring them with me. I assume that you're close to dheltzel? You can pm me if she has eggs for you.

I was not aware that you were looking for Bourbon Reds. If you can't get eggs from AD, isn't there a BR breeder in southern Chester Co?

Yes, my son has been asking for Bourbon Reds for a while now and I have a 4-H student that is interested in incubating the eggs. If the Southeastern BR Breeder you are referring to breeds partridge Silkies as well as CCL, then yes, I do know her and know she's had some great breeding stock and show winners with her BR Turkeys, but I've been interested in getting eggs from Aurora for some time now and if we can make that happen on Tuesday, I would be very grateful.
