I'm thinking I NEED 2 lavender Ameraucanas. whimper. I really really do NOT have the room for them.

In other news, I started a blog. https://iamcluelessblog.wordpress.com/

Huh, must have told you about that already, since it's in my profile.

Of course you need them. Dheltzel will have some--check out his website. I will be going to him for mine--no question!

I've been off line for a while. Hope everyone is doing well! See quite a bit is going on....I guess spring fever has hit...

As always still having fox issues, and will be building fort knox when things warm up...my girls (except two) will not fly over 4' fencing....

LadyHawk gave me a few Red Dorkings (a fox got one)....and I have one viable hatching egg from 48 shipped from upstate NY, (had a power outage on Day 4).
I also picked up 7 birds from DH: x4 CCLs , x3 BCMarans, they are about 4 weeks at this point...
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Welcome back!

Over the winter, my turkeys got out when I left the door open.

Two of my br hens disappeared, I got the other two hens, the room and a pair of royal palms that had been wandering the property back in eventually.

There are still give wild type wandering the property.

Yesterday I found a pile of feathers in my field when I was out planting trees. Guess I know what happened.
So sorry.

Just now purchasing chicks for breeding stock, so maybe late this fall or else 2017. And they will all be straight run, Lavendar (and black) can take a long time to sex out. I just pulled a roo from my breeding pen yesterday that I was sure was a pullet just a few weeks ago. He was hatched in Sept, or maybe even August, and managed to stay incognito until almost March. 6+ months is a long time to feed roos that you were hoping were pullets.

I can't sleep without telling you guys! I got a message from LittleMissPurdy about two hours ago!!
She is doing okay, and should be back on here as soon as possible.
It's funny that Stake comes back, and now she's back! A few others have been MIA, and have returned. I would say it's because it's spring, but I know that a lot of people have just had busy lives this past year and it's just now clearing up.

I've been off for a while with my life being crazy. I've been catching up the past few days all the chicken are doing well and I will be putting some orpington eggs in the incubator on March 5 along with some EE eggs I got my hands on. The orpington eggs will be from the chickens chiques chicks sent me and the eggs I set from the bantams that emorems0 gave me hatched so I four happy and healthy additional that are growing like crazy. I have big plans for another chicken coop and a pole barn with this warm weather so there is no chance of me slowing down. I hope you are all doing ok

Awesome news!! Thanks!

Had a very busy morning. I went to check the chicks and found Penny the Welbar stuck between the heating pad and the support frame. I think she was overheated and had pasty butt. So I soak her in warm water to clean the poop and tried to dry her with hair drier. Of course, the hair drier had to die during the process. Penny was almost dry at the time, so I put vaseline on her butt and put her under the heating pad again. I gave them scrambled egg and Nutri-drench in water. Penny didn't touch anything before I left.

When I go home tonight, I'm gonna use a pillowcase to hold the heating pad and frame together so no one will be stuck there again. Any other suggestion?
