I am looking to rent a well pump pulling rig. The 3 wheel one isn't strong enough for my well. I need the one with the tracks that hold the pipe. If you know where I can rent one, please let me know. Thanks.
 
We just use a hand held thing that has a hook on it and pull on it and just keep going and it all comes out its a thing my pap made he just hooks it on the pump and just walk with it and pull it up out anyone else getting hit with he snow

Our well is too deep. The 3 wheeled pump puller isn't strong enough. Our well is down 600 feet. Just pulling it with a come a long won't do it.
 
I checked all the rentals around by me. I don't know what pennswoods is. Craigslist doesn't have anything. We are so upset because we replaced it 5 years ago and know the 3 wheeler doesn't work, only the tracks works. We can't find anyone that rents them any more. Equipment renting places have gone out of business around here. One place for them to do it was $2700. That is way to much. I know everyone here knows a lot so I thought I would ask. Very informative people

I have a small hobby farm. We do some breeding and sell a limited number of chicks and adults. I'm expanding my breeding and starting a porcelain and lavender pen, so I have to find homes for some of my young bbs Roos. I'd be happy to give him to you! PM me for info about receiving him.
 
@stake - what is your run/coop set-up like? We have a "backyard" fox, but no casualties yet and hopefully never! Our coop is secured at night (people door and pop door). The run is made from dog kennel panels, but only covered with plastic fencing across the top to keep the hawks out. I hope you get your fox. My boys wish they could trap our fox. They desperately want to skin and tan a fox hide!! Bring your by when you get him. :)

Tried to multi-quote, but messed it up and can't remember who asked, but we use sand in both the run and coop. We have an elevated coop, but the floor has subflooring and linoleum tile (stick down tiles), so insulated? The sand has been really easy to keep clean and we're not real crazy about it (sift it 1x each month or so?). We have droppings boards under the roosts that we scoop every morning (kids take turns through the week) 5-10 minute job for 19 chickens. Water is kept outside in the run, so it stays dry in the coop. Sand can't freeze w/o moisture. It worked great for us this winter- girls loved it and dust bathed in it too.

Deep litter method is only on a dirt floor and has to have moisture in it to keep composting, right? The composting litter would rot a wood floor unless it's protected with some kind of flooring.
I am thinking most people who say they have a deep litter method actually have a deep bedding system which stays dry? We've considered this and wonder what maintenance is like? The thought of less to do in the coop is always a consideration!
