Wow, so many chicks! I just moved all my CCL babies from @dheltzel , and the first lavender ameraucanas of the year out to the main coop. I seriously can't wait till some of these boys are big enough to butcher! Thank goodness I can free range during the day because my coop is bursting at the seams!

I moved the young turkey poults out to the turkey coop too. Besides being very nervous and beside themselves, evening is going good with them. The adults really aren't bothering them at all, just a bit confused by little turkeys lol

With the big garage brooder freed up, the kids helped me move the smallest chicks out there since they're the biggest group. Always so much to do!

Hope to have that problem myself in about 9 days.....

I hatched some out a day or two ago. I'm between Milton Grove and mount Joy. Pm me!

I dunno, but its not right, it appears to me that one of legs is not 'performing' and the bird is compensating with other muscles...maybe a dislocated hip or something???

I thought the same thing about a dislocated hip it's just so weird. She eats ok bit doesn't range around with the others. She won't or can't scratch in the leaves for bugs like the others. I'm so puzzled......

I couldn't get a photo of the first chick to upload to this thread even last night. Now there are two chicks. I heard it coming out, but this hatch is so quiet, I didn't believe it until now!

Why does my maran walk like this? I've checked her feet for bumble foot but shows nothing no redness or soreness. Any help is appreciated..

The bird seems poorly coordinated and it's head appears to be wobbly in a couple of the angles.... almost like a palsy. Did it 'star gaze' at all as a chick? When it sits is it able to hold it's head steady? Neurological problems can be caused by a nutritional imbalance or illnesses or even Botulism. I would make sure it is getting good food and water access (it looks low on pecking order and may get bullied away from resources), provide it with Apple Cider Vinegar in its water and probably a vitamin supplement like Nutridrench. If it is a joint injury the extra vitamins and ACV certainly won't hurt it any... taking it aside to give it some scrambled eggs or a high protein food daily may help also.
