I'm telling you, I really messed up on this hatch! They were due Monday night.

You are working on the first hatch with a new incubator though...so not easy to get settings right when you aren't used to it's bugs...

I hope you do! I'm glad I set 11 eggs under my broody. 2 have gotten squashed and eaten so far! one day soon I will have enough room to separate my broodys. And then I expect plenty of enabling to fill my coop!

I forgot to say! The BCM looking eggs are fertile.

I think that was one of them that broke and got eaten. I already have a home for my chicks that hatch.

The bird seems poorly coordinated and it's head appears to be wobbly in a couple of the angles.... almost like a palsy. Did it 'star gaze' at all as a chick? When it sits is it able to hold it's head steady? Neurological problems can be caused by a nutritional imbalance or illnesses or even Botulism. I would make sure it is getting good food and water access (it looks low on pecking order and may get bullied away from resources), provide it with Apple Cider Vinegar in its water and probably a vitamin supplement like Nutridrench. If it is a joint injury the extra vitamins and ACV certainly won't hurt it any... taking it aside to give it some scrambled eggs or a high protein food daily may help also.

I don't remember it stargazing as a chicken but it does sit and hold its head ok. Great info thank you so much already on it with the eggs and cracked corn and vinegar in the water

Chick number five may not make it. It won't be kept anyway. It seemed fine until I went to check on it about two hours ago. Well, I was seeing if any other chicks had been born.
It looks like it has Wry neck, and it also has an extra toe on its left foot. The foot itself looks odd. Like a cartoon of a smashed hand.
I will see what is going on in the morning, but I just don't know.
That is just the way the cookie crumbles.

Hope things are looking better this morning. liquid infant vitamins (for people) with NO iron can help with Wry neck. I would tape the foot flat ~ a piece of tape on bottom of foot with toes spread, then another piece on top of foot holding toes apart.
