Yup, you have black sexlinked olive eggers there. You just need to come up with a catchy name -- Sapphire is taken. Maybe Emeralds . . .

Actually I would hope for worms, since that is the easiest to treat...although Cocci is pretty straightforward also.

Thank you for that. He's not looking good this morning. He made no attempt to move when I went to pick him up :/ I gave him a dose of safeguard and mixed up a concoction for him. Scrambled egg in a blender with some medicated water and vitamins added. I used a syringe (no needle obviously) and force fed him. I coated his comb with some vet rx too just for the soothing smell. He's sleeping in the screen porch now in a crate on a towel. He has water and food but no interest in it. I'll have to make him another smoothie later. I'm truely hoping he can pull out of this. He's such a stunning boy. And of course, I don't have a backup :/

Sometimes hearing of medical findings in others can help someone else out...though I can understand if you want to minimize personal details.

Well, on the B12 thing, I went to the doctors last year (first visit in about15yrs)...and had a general physical....he ordered blood work....and came back with three vitamins should supplement....no symptoms for me....

Hope your boy makes it....its been my experience that scrambled eggs work wonders...and I can feel the agnst with no backup....been there....if you need, I have an extra CCL boy from DH's JRs...that might be a stop gap....he's full grown and #2 in my small flock....aside from you and DH the only other breeder I know (close by to me) is Sally Sunshine, maybe she has an extra...(though she's a big fan of chicken stew)....

On my old girl winding down, she isn't done yet....she is spending all day staying in a nesting box and only gets up if I bother her....she goes the the pop up door looks out for a few minutes then back to the box...she is moving really slow like her joints are not working well anymore....I have taken to leaving her food and water next to the box and she is still eating and 'clear eyed' but has no interest in doing anything....might be a longer wait than I anticipated...
