They are just bantams, not very stinky. Once we traveled for several hours with 7 juvenile peafowl in the back of the van. We stopped for a fast food dinner and when we got back into the van -- BAM !! Even a bunch of farm kids were gagging . . .

Yep, definitely always leave a window or two down when stopped for fuel or food breaks...and a window cracked for airflow while underway. If the vehicle has a hatch it is good to open it at each stop and provide the birds with a dish of water then. We have made many, many trips with poultry in the vehicle, ducks are the worst IMO ...

There you go, Anne. When your co-travelers complain about the smell, tell them "at least we aren't transporting ducks!".

Sometimes you have to give them something to be grateful for.

Let our younger turkeys and guineas out with the older turkeys and all is well! When I checked last night they were all cuddled up. Here are my big guys. Big fred just started puffing up and making turkey noises. They are great!

We've decided to get meat chickens! Going to be our first time butchering. Building a tractor for them but still figuring out how we want it to be. Excited to have our own meat in the freezer.

Picked them up, they are so tiny!! I hadn't realized they were true bantams. I brough ta big crate, but they definitely wont be stinky for the ride tomorrow. Thanks again @dheltzel . :thumbsup

:hugs never a problem, no need to apologize!
:D I know. I also know how they can stink. Casey was inside overnight for bumble foot several months ago. Back in March the duck with no bill was loose in my kitchen while we watched to see if he could live. :sick

Eight more hours! :celebrate

Duckling will be thrilled! And confused. I just hope that this works out. If she thinks she's sitting on my lap with a chicken on hers, she can just make her little toddler brain think again! :lau I will probably be holding the other two while we watch cartoons.
