Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Busy busy morning here this morning. Played brooder shuffle all morning. The Marie mixes that I hatched are WAY too big to be in with the other babies so they've been moved to their own brooder. The brooder they were in got competely cleaned out and fresh bedding put in since those monsters poop a much as regular meaties. The babies in the house were getting way too big to be in the baby brooder so they were moved out to the brooder that the meaties were in with all the rest of the older babies. The new babies that hatched overnight (2 turkey poults and a CCL pullet) got to move out of the incubator and in to the house brooder. The serama babies went in with the adults but the adults aren't being nice so they're going to get their own brooder here in a few minutes. The turkey coop door needed shoveled out so I could open it the whole way and prop it open. I'm exhausted already! But not done yet. Gotta set up the little serama brooder and run to TSC then probably making up some more turkey saddles. One of my toms is a rough breeder :/ He won't be staying for long.

Whew! That is a lot! My work will come this spring when I have to build my turkey house and run. And a breeding pen... and a duck pen.

For now, I have to run to Walmart to get a large clear storage box as a brooder. I ran out of time to make one, and we may have new peeps tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

So DH came in from the coop yesterday and said he thinks we should open a KFC because we already have a '3 piece chicken' box....

Yep, 6 other boxes available but 3 hens decide that is the only one good enough for them! LOL

Lol full house! You just reminded me that I need to put “curtains” up on my boxes, so the girls can have privacy, and so I can prevent egg eating.

We have been busy, but not more than normal with chicken stuff... We are moving a kitchen to a new spot in the house as the next renovation stage and doing new floors as part of the process. Our best friends were in a head on car crash and seriously injures almost 2 weeks ago so days off of work have involved hospital trips and we have their 100 lb dog living with us now and when they are released from rehab they will probably be living with us for a few weeks since we have a 1 story house and theirs is a two story with steps to entrance and they can't do that for a while. Has been hectic trying to get things in working order. .

So sorry to hear about their crash, hope they all heal well. That’s very kind of you to help them out so, especially with a kitchen move in the works! I’ll be praying for their recovery, and all of your sanity.

Welcome! Chester County here.

Hatching AND meat birds on the way? Ah yes, you are more than addicted. Turkeys are just a baby step away.

Ah turkeys, can't be without them! Speaking of which, Mister was being VERY affectionate this morning. He has pin feathers coming in all over him, must be all his adult feathers. I'm guessing he wanted comforted lol. Either that or he was asking for protection since Romeo and Tommy were arguing. I can't wait to see him with his adult plumage, he's going to be stunning! He's a tri colored, blue penciled palm.

Guess where I was this weekend? :drool
