He is gorgeous! And he looks like an americauna/EE mix to me. The ones we gave MCC were EE mixes also, we had an australorp rooster and a Black Sex link rooster at the time and the hens were a collection of rocks and EEs. The chicks produced were nice birds, rather friendly and calm with good flock personalities and chick friendly. Basically a great backyard bird for self sustaining flocks.

I don't know of any 'perfect' purebred bird to satisfy all homestead needs, but the mixes we have accumulated over the years sure do well for us.
 
So I found a baby's squirrel. Any chances of rehabbing it and releasing?

I have never tried a squirrel, but if the info on their feeding habits is available on the web I would say it is very probable. That little one doesn't look too little actually, I would say it may have been kicked out already with the amount of fur and fluff on it. Seems pretty comfy with you already so somewhere dark and comfy to nest at night...do you have an old hamster cage or a medium Tupperware type tub you can make a screen lid for? A hand towel or old pillowcase for it to snuggle into and you should be good to go.
I would expect food can be any fruit, veggie or nuts.
 
KMR in a kitten nursing bottle. I knew someone who raised one from a hairless baby until it started eating the furniture. Wildlife rehabber as soon as possible to give the baby the best chance and keep it legal.

Thanks everybody! I tried putting it back outside to see if the mom would take it, but to no avail.

He stayed in my pocket just trying to snuggle. He seemed like he was trying to suckle, so I looked online and they said Puppy milk replacer will work. I did get him to drink a few gulps, then put him in a Rubbermaid tote with a heating pad and some tea towels. We'll see how it goes!
