I use Ivermectin. It is a systemic wormer that also works for sucking parasites. You put a few drops on the back of their neck, like Frontline on dogs. It is not list for chickens however, so it might be present for some time in their eggs. Most of my eggs are incubated, so I'm not concerned. but the permethrin dip is safer for eating eggs (but a *lot* more work if you have a few hundred to treat).@dheltzel @Auroradream26 What medication do you guys drop on your flock again for lice and mites? I promise I’ll write it down this time!
raised in ft.walton, we have a place now on jupiter lake in defuniak springs for when we become snowbirds. husband is from scottdale so when he got out of service, he came back home and i came with him, been here since 1970nice, i was born and raised just outside of dothan (45 min from panama city beach), reckon since ur on here ya might be a good person to keep in contact with hahaha
thats what i use too, i do admit i forgot about not eating the eggs tho , i don't think it hurt us tho, altho we might be parasite free tooI use Ivermectin. Sorry. I thought I responded. He was in his sixties. He was impressed. What I did not consider was that “press one” for assistance, a survey or “English” doesn’t work. Was he able to figure it out? My dad used to use those and I remember I was always intrigued by it.
altho i have no idea what was said, i agree 100 percentI am totally willing to respect opinions. It’s a must in this world! But swearing isn’t. This is a family site. A lot of words that the old BYC starred out are being used in this thread. Please remember young people read this stuff, and should not think it’s okay to speak like that.
