A few days before Christmas, we lost our sweet Maple. She was our oldest girl and was the last one from our original flock. She was the one who was obsessed with food, diving in to the meal worm container as a chick and getting stuck under the food dish as an adult. She would come running to us for protection when the boys were chasing her down and she absolutely loved to be held and cuddled. She would've been 5 in February. I think that she was either eggbound or laying internally. She was never a good layer and always laid these weirdly shaped green eggs when she actually did lay. We always joked that she was half meaty since she was so fat lol. We're all going to miss her and her antics.

I'm so sorry! She was a beautiful hen. Some hens seem to just make their presence known and it seems she was one of them, lol.... she may not have given you a lot of eggs but it seems she gave you something more important.... good times and good memories. :hugs:hugs

When doing chores this morning I saw a blad eagle flying above our place. And I am missing a duck. :hmm

Uh oh, I hope your duck is just hiding :/ I'm missing a young white silkie. She's been missing for 2 days now. It was her first day out exploring. The wildlife are hungry out there :/

@Auroradream26 Isn’t it Girl scout cookie season?

It starts in about a week :) I think we start selling on January 5th. I promise to post the link as soon as I can :)
