Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Banjo is gone, and I only wish I had done it sooner. She must have been suffering a while. The good thing is, it was salpingitis (sp?), which means there was nothing I had done wrong, as best as I know. She definitely had an egg that had become infected. As soon as I cut into her, the smell was terrible. It was different than I have smelled before though.

Thanks as always for the input everyone!

Aww, poor girl. It's so hard but you definitely did the right thing. She won't be in pain any more.

Here is a picture of one of the hatched ones. They both look the same.

Thanks, I did try that with mineral oil the other night.

I’m okay, thanks for asking. I just wish there was something more I could do rather than euthanize her, but she is in pain. She is not standing very steady this morning. So it’s time.
i'm really sorry nothing worked for you and you're having to put her down, its hard i know:hugs:hugs

I love the pre-fabricated coops. I hate that they fall apart in two months or less.
If you have help, build it yourself. Take three, 2x4’s, and nail a sheet of plywood across them. Do it five more times. Nail it all together (actually, I prefer screws), and add chickens.
Okay, the front needs a door. Ya gotta add that. Add overhang all around, and you can cut out some plywood, attach hardware cloth, and you have ventilation.

Hahahahaha. You're hired!
