Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Either way, it could kill our chickens so I’m not very happy. If it comes back I’m either grabbing the dog or my husband will shoot the coyote. This has been the worst year for predators! :he
today we found muddy prints on our black-top walkway.
They were big bear tracks across it..into the area where the female dogs go potty...our Ana is in heat right now:rolleyes:...
we took a look around the yard to see were the bear had been..looks like it was in the cutting garden, the mulch was moved around..the tulips and daffodils were not bothered..thinking that it was looking for bugs-grubs...mulch was also moved around in some of the other beds..lots of claw scraps in the dirt-mud. Not too deep though, that is why thinking "bug" hunting.
I know "pictures or it didn't happen", but my camera is poo-poo right now remember?..:barnie..
have plans to go to wally world and see what they have for camera deals in the next couple days. Need to find something decent & fast, I am going nuts not being able to take pics...:he..:hit..
We have lots of bear up here, this area is one of the top numbers for bear counts.
Not too worried about this one, nothing is blooming or producing anything to eat right now.
It's prints are a little bigger than my hand, so we figure about 150-175 *..about average for this area..not very old.
It didn't even mess around the chicken run, would be easy to see if it did.
Last year our neighbor up on the hill had one eat their little plot of corn while both our yard & the neighbors right beside had full gardens to pick through...hahaha:idunno, who knows what those big-boyds are thinking.
*had to add..the prints look like bear-feet , like human feet, but fatter..hahaha.. seriously. Have got to find a way to get a picture before it rains!!

Fortunately, there have been no bear sightings here for several years. Unfortunately, we are due for a visit.
Until last year, there had been no deer in my yard for several years. Last year we all seemed to have hawks.

We have a mating pair of eagles living near......, not as worried about them as we are the hawks & kestrels..they are smaller, but can still inflict heavy damage:(
have deer everywhere & bear, hahaa:caf...

Where have you been, woman? I’ve made three kinds of biscotti lately. I’ve been wanting to ask if you have ever made banana biscotti.
never made banana biscotti...
blueberry- w/lemon zest, cherry-almond, & cranberry-walnut w/orange zest (my fav.).
Have to keep the biscotti jar full at all times. It is what I have in the AM...Pretty much a food group for me.:drool

planted garlic. Trying a new way this year.
I have tried many times to plant it in the fall like everyone else, but it never grows-matures. So decided to plant in spring, just like onions, I do really well with those, so?
Won't hurt anything to change things up a bit....works for the onions, maybe it will work for garlic.:fl
We got the blueberry bushes moved to an area they can expand now. Had to get them moved before they started to bud/bloom. Should still get a good crop.:D
Had the chickens in the garden a bunch, they are super happy.
It is killing me not to have pictures to share:hit:barnie....gosh, we have got to go to the store tomorrow!:rant

I think I mentioned, the dog eats more than I do. The chocolate chip is the only kind he cannot guilt me into giving him.
I could make dog biscuits, but it’s not the same thing. He likes the biscuits I make, but he knows it’s not something I want.

I have lemons, various cans of fruit, including blueberries...
:drool I still have apple rings from the fall. Cinnamon apple biscotti!
I make treats and "dinner" enhancers for the pups. Just something I like doing, they enjoy too.
I only use dried fruit for biscotti.
Once I tried to use fresh blueberries..made more of a "bread" like texture, too much moisture even after two-bakes. Wasn't uneatable, but wasn't biscotti either.:hmm
Neighbor dropped off a case of oranges..I was like..Thank you:th...
Lots of zest/peel in the freezer & dehydrated...1/2 gallon juice (w/crazy pulp:D) in fridge , , another 1/2 gallon frozen in containers for later & a bunch in the crisper for Bugs snacks. Won't have to worry about anything "orange" for awhile!:yesss:
