Crowing
Yesterday I reached into a darkened nestbox to hunt for duck eggs (the Australian Spotted hens think it great fun to cover their eggs with bedding). I got bitten by an irate duck! I decided to leave her with 7 marked eggs to see if she can hatch and raise ducklings this late in the year.
Then in another pen, a lavender cochin bantam hen was sitting on eggs also. Maybe they somehow know it will be a mild winter.

Even worst than human babies. Maybe the mom will come back?
Hubby and I both don't have the capability to process, so we are relying on Dennis to get only girls.
I love the taste of those real free-range chicken though.
Do worry. Everybody have their own way to deal with things. And we all make mistakes. No one should get blamed unless they are doing something bad on purpose.
