Most of mine still aren’t laying either. Seems much longer than usual. They all molted at once and I give them (instead of scratch)”no mess” seed which is mainly sunflower . My two new girls just started laying about 10 days ago, but the rest are done with their molt and still slacking!!!

While I have found that pullets and 2nd winter hens often lay through winter (especially if extra light added) the older hens are much less likely to egg regularly through the winter months. The older ones seem to take longer to get started after their molt and lay much less frequently.
We have a lot of senior hens, some lay only once or twice a week in winter, some not at all from December through March. They earned their place as honored retirees (as long as their health remains good) through their brooding of new generations for us.
