Any tips on raising turkeys? I have food and water for them. I have been told to keep their feet dry. Anything else?

Babies? Keep the brooder dry and fairly clean and just make sure that they're eating and drinking. Having a chick in with them as a tutor is a great help.

I think turkeys like it a tad warmer than chicks by 5 degrees? I agree, they need tutors and I was VERY tempted when I saw them at my local TSC--which sold out of everything (rocks, EE's, ducklings, Cornish and turkeys ) in two days. There was a young family there getting their very first chicks and the excitement was contagious!

I believe turkeys need a bit higher protein than average chickens, dont they? I know chick starter is good, but dont they go to a meat bird/game bird feed after that? Are they ok with regular feed if they can free range for bugs or do they still need the higher protein feed?

Whereabouts in NW PA? I'm driving through cranberry township later today!
You won’t get any of it!! :lau We are wayyy up in the sticks! Kane! No one has ever heard of it...brookville? That’s south of us...marienville..2 hrs west. We get it much worse than those guys do..we’re in a snow belt and at the highest point from this side of the Mississippi....

So hatch is almost done, 1 pip left but not sure if it is going to progress. We moved about a dozen early hatches to the 'brinsea box' to rest overnight and they will go to hens today. The later hatches will go to the box this morning and out to hens tonight after their wellness check.
We pulled the first batch for their final wellness check a few moments ago, giving each to Mindy to cuddle while we checked the next one. The chicks snuggle into her fluff and she makes a wonderful chick watcher as we check the others.
