Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I think one of my Marans pullets got in a fight. Found her laid over on the ground, my rooster trying (unsuccessfully) to mate her. (She’s only 15 weeks old.) I couldn’t find any obvious fractures, but her left wing doesn’t seem right. Gave her some low dose aspirin and brought her inside. Seems to be doing fine, she’s even pecking at some food I left in the bin. Hope she’s ok.❤️✝️

@dheltzel do you have contact info for @AnneInTheBurbs ?

I want to get in touch with her about SPRs and I'm kinda worried because she hasn't posted in so long. I lost her physical address (evidently I 'house cleaned' the wrong card )
If you have info send me a PM and I will give you my contact info to forward on to her.

I think I have her info but I'll have to check when I get home from work. I'm getting a bit worried about her myself. I'm thinking of sending her a "thinking of you" card.

I was once on a trail in the woods (of a summer camp before camp was in session) when a herd of deer came walking across several feet ahead of me. I began walking again when the buck came moseying through, and stepped on my foot. Pain aside, it was cool. Then again, I hadn’t just scared the heck out of a fawn.

Yep, baby deer sound eerily like lambs. Have heard them numerous times around the barn property and found a couple hiding.

Last week we were in the barn 'basement' and found numerous deer hoofprints, including fawn prints. Seems the deer are enjoying the barn being empty of animals and people most of the time. It is always really comfortably cool in the basement, and we leave the 12ft doors open on each end. Looks like the deer are 'chilling out' there on hot days.

My silkie pen was totally annihilated last night... I'm thinking maybe a fisher. There was a small hole dug under the edge of the kennel, most bodies were destroyed and eaten and several just had the heads removed. These 3 ladies were the only survivors. I'm so thankful that any survived! They will be spending the night in a vacant brooder for now.
