Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

 I need to gush about Jim again. He was in the back of the garden with a mom and two chicks. One mom was outside the fence, with the other chicks, scratching in compost. He saw me, and made a noise. Suddenly, seven chicks were running at me, and all three adults were walking calmly behind them. He was showing ( :gig grooming!) the babies where I had tossed scratch in another direction.

Watch what you ask for. It is not a bad thing in this situation, but I find it funny. I said six chicks, but came home with eight. One got crushed, and one is a cockerel. I now have six. Okay, seven until butcher day.

I have been having coffee with my peeps for several days now. This morning, I had to rescue a chick out of the feeder. After it was done yelling at me, it chased me because it knows where the scratch comes from!
As I sat in my chair, one LH chick had a thing for my slippers. It kept sitting on my foot and running across it. As funny as that was, it then started digging underneath for any stray scratch. :gig I am glad I can enjoy its antics. I am being shown by the two LH that I was right. Leghorn chicks are jerks! They are only alright if a broody takes them.
