Penny is having surgery tomorrow

Tomorrow Penny is having ovario-hysterectomy (“spay”) surgery. She is also having a breast removed that has had some small nodules in it for a while.

While I know how great modern technology is, I hate anesthesia at any time, and I am always anxious until they have recovered.

Thank you for keeping her, and me, in your thoughts tomorrow.

What a good mom you are to be taking care of the nodules now and spaying her now that her breeding years are over, yes the risk is minimal now with the surgery but she will be at so much less risk of issues later spayed

Ohhh it was so hard to leave her this morning.

To those of you who asked, Penny is 6.5 years old.

I always spay my b.itches by age 7. I don't like them to linger intact because there are too many issues that can happen. I like to get the surgery over and done with while they are still young enough to recover well. The vet was not concerned with the small nodule, he said ones like she has are almost always benign, and he will remove the lump for biopsy instead of the breast.

I am supposed to have a report from them by 2pm eastern. Thank you all for your thoughts and good wishes. I will be on pins and needles until I know she is out of the anesthesia.
