people using sand in coop

I also use sand in my coop. However, under the roosting area, I use wood shavings. To me it helps keep the coop smelling good and is very easy to clean. I love the mini fork. That's just what I have been looking for. THANK-YOU!!!!!

I will look for the mini manure fork too!!!

What is PDZ?

I guess no one uses baking soda?

Sweet PDZ is a horse stall refresher to take away ammonia smell.

I use the wood pellet bedding in my coop and scoop it with a kitty litter scoop. I think I'd rather have the wood pellets than sand- comparable in size to clean, but the wood is biodegradable and helps the nitrogen balance in composting.
