Creepers gonna creep. It was in my mine and completely blew me up.

Those things are so scary. I tried trapping one in a fence once. It was working for a bit, but the results were predictable when I got too close. And that was how I found out what a creeper does.
Amazingly, I didn't die.

The Minecraft wiki has no article on silver. Usually they seem to know everything, so I'm mildly skeptical.

If you have Minecraft Pocket Edition, try the world seed called infinity. It has lots of huge caves which could spawn monsters or make you fall to your death though, so maybe set it to creative mode, or at least peaceful mode.
