Peppermint in their coop?

Could I put some peppermint leaves in their coop, just for the perfume affect? Would it hurt them?

You could try. They'll probably dig it all up, so I'd put it in a pot where they can't get to it, or put rock over the roots.

Ok, I just wanted to throw some branches into the chicken coop. I did that but it didn't do much, kind of a waste of time.

I put peppermint OIL in coop to deter wasps and mice. It smells really strong and the chickens don't mind. Jury is still out on the mice, but the wasps leave.

I avoid strong smelling oils in the coop, because chicken lungs are actually small and not great at handling strong oils.
And I doubt that the mice care, one way or another.
