The "starter" I'm feeding now, to my 6 day old meat birds, is 21% protein. The company that sells it, Countryside Organics, also makes a "grower" that is 19% protein.

Should I stick with the 21% percent their whole lives or switch to the 19% at some point?

I'm soaking/fermenting their feed, if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

Not a pro here but the"starter/broiler" mix I'm using is 23% protein and the label says its the sole ration from start to finish so I'd vote for the higher the better.

THe higher % is better if you are feeding broiler chiks of the cornishx type, or red rangers . And they will be freezer size in a bout 8 weeks. I f you have another kind of bird it will be 4 months and the grower feed will work better once they are about 8 weeks.

Fermented feed is wonderful, however based on 3 trial I have either read or done myself, the growth rate is much slower, so more feed is used per pound of meat. If I were to have cornish x again, I would use BOTH fermented and dry feed to get a faster result.

Document your experience and then try again , weeking your method, or not. lol
