I'm so happy - I have one of my 6 chickens (1 of the 2 older ones, which are about 2 1/2 wk old BOs right now) who seriously looks forward to seeing me - as soon as I put my hand into the brooder, she hops up and runs up my arm to hang out with me. I have my suspicions that she just knows I'm a way out of there, but today she hopped up, jumped onto the screen that is on top of the brooder for a bit, then came back to hang out on my shoulder. The other BO stepped up onto my hand today, but doesn't seem as excited about it. As for the other 4, they hate my guts, but we're working on that - hoping when they get older they'll get to be like their bigger sisters. I've been working with them so they get used to me and let me handle them somewhat easily, so this is making me so happy! However, when we're outside and it's time to go in, she's not so excited to hang out with me then

we have the same deal going on here.. there are a few that do not chirp loudly when we hold them, but for the most part, they miss their buddies and are scared. We had one really friendly one two years ago. Hopefully more this year.

All four of mine are like that....they fight over who gets to roost on me LOL Seriously....my RIR was on my arm today as I was cleaning out the brooder and my EE flew up and knocked her off so she could roost there

I have one... He's a little roo. He will run to my hand and wait for my voice to make sure it's me and not someone else. When he hears my low pitched voice I use with him, he hops on. As soon as I sit down, he climbs up my shirt and snuggled with my ear, which tickles so much I get chills, but can't being myself to get him down.
