Perfect coop for illegals.

Love it, but I think I could make one cheaper than $500! Great idea though. "See our new trash can and compost bin combo? It does squeak a bit, though..."

I put in a garage coop, and when I am done I will be able to park both my cars in the garage. This was accomplished by using a warehouse rack.

Play houses are also very good for hiding chickens, but, there is no way to completely hide them on your average .25 acre or smaller lot. Sooner or later someone will hear the suckers. Its better to get to be friends with your neighbors. Yes, actually get to know them and cultivate them. And then get chickens.

Here is a pic of my garage coop. I have three BOs. The run will be in a space between the back wall of the garage and the fence. Honestly, its the most stealthy arrangement you can have. And if you put a sheet or other thing in front of the coop then you could have the garage door wide open and nobody would know.

I live in Houston, so they need all that ventilation. I don't want the eggs to cook before the chickens lay them. LOL.

I had coturnix quail in my garage at one time. They are noisy little critters but the hens are regular egg-laying machines. (You gotta learn to crack lots of very small eggs for an omlet . . . we usually had them hard-boiled

After several years, I told my neighbors about the birds. They wanted to come over and see 'em right away. They were amazed that I'd had the quail for so long (as many as 35 at one time). The neighbors thought the noise from the cocks was from crows
