My black silkie, Oprah, laid her first egg a couple of days ago. I went out today and she was pacing.

She went into the big nest box and made two nests and THEN paced between the two. She dug holes in each to the bottom. That wasn't good enough, so she went to the small nest box where my broody, Henrietta, was sitting. Henrietta got ticked and bit her.

So Oprah went back to the big box and paced for awhile and THEN she picked one spot and grabbed straw and positioned it around her self. I think she would have had an Igloo if she could!

After about 30 minutes I left. Came back later and the egg was OUTSIDE the box on a pallet. WTH?

She's also very talkative all a sudden!
