I don't mind waiting an extra few weeks for a slightly smaller bird. He seemed like a
nice guy when I called and said he had just set eggs for the hatch in 3 weeks.
50 isn't too many considering we are splitting the order and I think there will be
a few people who want any extras. Let's see what my partner in crime PP has to say
about it. Thanks for your recomendation. Your posts are where I learned about them.

Heck maybe we'll order 100.

I just checked out http://www.schlechthatchery.com/, it didn't say if they had any available, but if you go to shipping, we're in zone 5 and would have to add an additional 14% for airmail.

You want 100 now? Hmmm..I think your the evil one

But hey what's 50 more plus a couple geese right?

Glad you chimed in. I was wondering where you were.

For me right now it's a tossup between Meyers(Like them, they are close, and they
have geese) and the Red Bros(Freedom Rangers). How daring are you? Wanna
do both? We would get them in staggered deliveries and have 2 processing parties,
one in september and one in october.

Gotta run out to Costco.. Be back later.

That sounds good! Would you want to order 50 from each? And I like the idea of the Freedom Rangers, then we get to try both and see what we like better. So is this processing party at my house or yours, we have a ton of stumps in our yard

I just checked meyers and for the broilers, st. run isn't available, pullets can be delievered the week of the 7th, and cockerals the 11th.

I was on Meyer's website and the only geese they available is white chineese geese
sickbyc.gif
, that seems what a lot of hatcheries have, maybe it's ment to be

Did you call cackle hatchery, the have the broilers available and geese

For 50 from cackle it would be $56.50 +shipping.

Geese only breed in the winter/spring, so you won't find a complete selection at other times. Chinese, though, are prolific layers and go longer than others.

I'd suggest Metzer for the geese.

Cackle still have them available, I'm leaning more to the african geese.

PC - I'm going to mail you a nice big cooler, with a couple of bucks for dry ice so you can ship me a few once you're done processing.

EDIT TO ADD: Throw in a turkey as well - THANKS!

Wow we really need to twist each others' arms on this one.

50 from each. Let's do it. What a great experiment it will be.
Does Cackle have crosses available for next week? If so let's do it. Can they ship your
geese at the same time?

The party can be at your house. I don't mind driving out there. We will have to have at
least two processing parties with 100 birds. Holy Chickens Batgirl!!!

We will also need to think about food. 100 birds at 8 pounds each times 3 pounds of
feed per pound of chicken equals 2400 pounds of food. Uhhh wow. Know of any farm
co-ops?

Cackle hatchery does have them available for next week and my geese will be shipped with them. Do you want to get the chicks vaccinated for Mareks? So 50 from cackle and 50 freedom rangers from RedBro's, correct? My dad does know a co-op(I think it's in cobolt) you have to buy atleast 1000 pounds, but's it really cheap, so we'll check that out for feed.
