Perhaps I've Had Enough

I know exactly what you're saying. My last listing on craig's list was something like this. "Six Midget Whites for sell 6 weeks old only 10.00 each because they are driving me crazy." I have 20 turkeys now and as soon as possible I will butcher and sell all but three. Next year I will raise 6 for the freezer and no more. For some reason they love to jump on my truck and find any type of mischief possible. Oh, and aren't they good at getting into places they can't get out of?

I like the sound of Specilty farms have they got any other interesting stuff or rare breeds ? I found some Silkies in Pattaya just have not gone to collect any yet but Ill get them near Chrismas when I go to deliver my Turkeys

Sorry, just noticed your post after returning from a break from BYC.

The two friends who have farms are keeping turkeys and chickens but no particular breed. The chickens are the usual Rhode Island crosses. The friend in Buriram is selling off his chickens because the cost of feed is too high. As far as I know, he's keeping only turkeys now and growing fruit, vegetables and flowers.

We are back on the scene with the possibility of keeping two or three geese as guard dogs and some bantams for eggs. The dog access will need attention but I hope that the task of taking care of the new poultry will be easier than it was with the turkeys.

How's your flock getting on?
