Pretty sure that a determined bear would literally just rip up your wire and mesh sides...Unbelievably powerfulGreat ideas! I have thought about the electric fencing but wasn't sure if it was overkill. I got some "Nite Eyes" which is a solar powered led light (well two red lights) that appear like an animal's eyes at night and they occasionally "blink." I'm hoping that deters anything that might climb over our 6 foot fence. Last spring we had an orphaned baby bear climb the fence looking for trash but I'm planning to bear proof our trash so there is less to entice them. A bear would have to take a running jump and belly flop on top of the hoop house to weaken it enough to get in. I'll plan to remove the feed at night... that is a great idea. Thanks!!

If y'all read back hot wire has been discussedI agree, a 100# plus bear would rip that apart like a wet paper bag. They have incredible strength.
