Permanent hoop coop in the mountains

Great ideas! I have thought about the electric fencing but wasn't sure if it was overkill. I got some "Nite Eyes" which is a solar powered led light (well two red lights) that appear like an animal's eyes at night and they occasionally "blink." I'm hoping that deters anything that might climb over our 6 foot fence. Last spring we had an orphaned baby bear climb the fence looking for trash but I'm planning to bear proof our trash so there is less to entice them. A bear would have to take a running jump and belly flop on top of the hoop house to weaken it enough to get in. I'll plan to remove the feed at night... that is a great idea. Thanks!!
Pretty sure that a determined bear would literally just rip up your wire and mesh sides...Unbelievably powerful

I had a bear tear the wall off of my coop one night...grab a 20 gallon trash can full of chicken feed and carry it down the hill...and eat all my chickens in the meantime :(

Installed an electric charger and hot wires rated for large animals....no more predator issues after that. But do be aware one of my favorite little hens was able to get out one day and the electric wire killed her :( Small animals must be kept away. Good luck!
