Permethrin Recommendations

For ya'll that ever used liquid permethrin how's your experience with it? Any recommended brand?

I was considering on treating my backyard premises with permethrin. There's a slight fly problem and this weird unidentifiable bug that likes to camp under the nest box (comes in black & red, size of a dime, its back side looks like a pillbug, kinda wide).

I always used the dust version for chicken coops, but I was thinking of giving the liquid sprays a try, but I'm worried about the petroleum-like smell the reviews complain about. On the fence whether to stick with the easy dusters or transition to liquid sprays.

My dad used liquid permethrin(don’t know the brand off the top of my head) on my coop when we had a lice issue.I don’t remember noticing a smell afterwards.

We use Gordon's spray concentrate, available at TSC. It comes in an 8oz. bottle fro $7 or $8 last time I bought it, and dilutes to many gallons of spray, for the coop and the birds. Easy, inexpensive, and gets into those small spaces in the walls, etc, that powder doesn't work well for.
Not so good on the birds in very cold weather, we use powder if necessary on the birds then.
