Permethrin spray

Good Afternoon all,

I bought a used coop, I know the previous owners at one time had a mite problem. If I spray the coop with permethrin how long do I need to keep the chicks out of it??

Just till it dries you might want to spray it a few times but maybe with a few types of sprays.

What type of Mite is it some mites are like super mites.. some are so strong Avid won't even kill it

Try doing a combination between that and neem oil.

I'd stick with products approved for food animal exposure, poultry specifically.
How long since they had birds in the coop?
Have you looked for them, pry back some overlapping materials and peer into crevices to see if there are any there?
I would use a liquid permethrin spray all surfaces and especially soak all the cracks/crevices thoroughly.
Maybe let it dry for a few days before adding birds.
