Permit needed?

Hello, I'm new here. I live in Hartford-Wethersfield line. I new in CT, bought a house 15 months ago. I want to get chickens, but I'm unsure what to do. Will I need a permit? My backyard is fenced in, and it's approximately 900 square feet. Honestly, I haven't measured it, but it's about that size. The backyard has a green house right in the middle, about 10x10 feet, and a small garden behind the green house, and I still have a lot of room for the chickens to free range. Any suggestions and advice please. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Many municipalities have their own ordinance for poultry. Many rural municipalities don't have limits, but some have a state ordinance.
Call the municipality that lays out the zoning for your property to find out if and what your ordinance is.
