So recently I found out my birds were mite/live infested (not all, a few select had it).I don’t know which is was, I know it wasn’t the red note but there were two different sorts of bugs crawling on them.So I took action and sprayed EVERYTHING ,burned their current jay supply, I sprayed down old coops, got rid of any bedding that was laying around and sprayed their whole run down. We’re a week in, no more bugs, literally. The infested birds, 100% cleared, as well as most of the other birds.BUT, one thing that I did differently this time was I did not mix enough water into my permithian spray, and I think the product was so strong that it stuck on the birds causing any egg hatchling from mites/live to die, soem of the birds are still oily/greasy at the bottom of their fetahers plus I noticed some skin peeling on soem of the birds, and soem of it is extreme on a few of them.I also have a few birds who are “sick” since the treatment, their walking slow, almost seem to have loss of control in their body sometimes, and reduce in egg laying, other then that, they look and eat fine when they want, and o body loss.I was thinking maybe I did a Permithian overkill, and while it killed off the mites/lice, I think it made a few birds sick,or maybe their just uncomfortable do to the greasy stickiness?
Now, I recently was gonna worm them but did not know how much to use , but recently saw one of the goat dewormers were good for chickens, but It only says how to apply for goats, not birds, so I am curious how much Valbezen to use , I also Ivermectin.

Yeah, it sounds like you over did it with the permethrin. The permethrin spray has a 28 day residual stay time with normal application, or over-application which is the case in this instance. This is why mites and lice are dying after hatching from eggs.

I think you dosed your birds too much and it doesnt matter about the coops as long as they are well ventilated. You can always put a fan inside the coop and put it on low speed during the day and at night blowing air OUT a vent. Then fresh indirect air flow will come in through the other vents.

Your birds shouldnt be oily and greasy at all. I recommend soaking them in a container of warm water to dilute the permethrin solution as best as you can. Then discard the container of contaminated water and repeat with fresh warm water for the next bird, and so on until all effected birds have been rinsed. Then hopefully your birds will recover back to normal.
I also recommend giving them vitamins and minerals in their water to drink until they recover; Avian Super Pack or Poultry Nutri Drench would be best. Another option is ProBios dispersible powder used as a top dressing on their feed to eat.

Thansk I figured bathing them would help them return back to normal, BUT I am glad to rid of the infestation and next time I’ll add more water thanks!

I will try to get a picture later on, I apologize I’m typing on a iPhone and it’s a bit difficult to make EVERYTHING come out right PLUS autocorrect and I am not rechecking sentences.

No worries. Thanks.
