[PerryCoChicks]

We are delighted to officially join Backyard Chickens! We live in Perry County PA and our chickens have just arrived from an inner city Baltimore classroom where they were hatched and spent the first 8 weeks of their lives. This site has been so valuable as we have prepared for our new arrivals. We have 4 young roosters - who after they are identified will be destined for the chicken pot - but the 6 young pullets will live a lovey county life here on our beautiful 13-acre farm. We will post pictures of our chicken tractor, our feeder, and our water bucket - all of which we did ourselves - with great success - thanks to Backyard Chickens! I am sure we will have questions and look forward to learning more about chickens from all of you! (By profession we are an RN and a pastor - so chickens are new and exciting and 3 days in we are already spending our morning coffee time by the run or in the run).

we seem to get many people who got chicks that hatched at schools - must be pretty smart chicks by the time you get them
