Hey Peeps!
I am new to chickens this year. We got our Plymouth Rock, Americana and Delaware on March 25th said to be about a week old. So far none of them have started laying! I thought Delaware chickens lay early?
The other issue is we have acquired a new Buff Orpington hen about 5 months old. She also has not started laying yet, but I know the stress of a new flock could cause that. However, she is still just staying in the indoor run and not defending herself for pecking order. She just buries her head in the corner so as not to get pecked. It has been almost 2 weeks now that she has been inside the same coop with the flock. She is about the same size as the others. I am concerned if she is getting enough to eat and drink as her crest is not a red, but more pink. Suggestions? Or do I just need to let her work it out?
