Pest (my dog) eating our tomatoes! CAN'T see

I have a Shih-Tzu who will eat all the basil if I didn't keep my herb garden fenced from him. He absolutely loves basil.

I used to have a cat that would eat the bottoms off the ripe tomatoes.
Nothing more frustrating than watching a particularly beautiful tomatoe rippen perfectly, and go to collect it with your mouth watering... oly to find the bottom eaten off! un
