Pet Chicken Refuses Pellets

I have a pet hen that absolutely refuses pellets. I've tried all the local brands from Albertsons to Walmart all the way through Purina and Nutro. She won't touch crumbles or pellets. I'm reaching a point of frustration. She will consume greens, scratch, veggies, some other products but she needs a wholly balanced menu. I'm about to dive for parrot pellets but wanted to check and see if anyone had suggestions first.

This isn't a new thing with this hen. She free ranges as part of her meal plan but winter is coming and I am starting to worry.

Mine were like that too until I started to add water and make them mash. They eat the pellets now too. I think animals will eat whatever is put out for them if they are hungry enough. I don’t think that they would let themselves starve to death if they are healthy Most animals get picky like that if you spoil them and only give them what they like the most, just don’t give them anything else

Thank you. I'll try the water thing. It worked with my hookbills and I didn't think about it working with my chicken. This is a first with me for chickens to refuse food.

With no scratch, veggies or treats, I would think she will eat feed if she is hungry enough.

I had no idea Albertson's sold chicken feed. I have seen it at Wal-Mart though.

I see it occasionally in the local store. Not often but I also get my parakeet food from there sometimes... I buy formulated pellets like Tops or Roudybush for my hookbills so other stuff with pellets is kind of off putting and lately it seems that every seed mix has pellets in it.
