Pet ducks released on my lake

Pekin are legal in Florida. That hybrid probably isn't legal so you could not rehome it anyway and you would be in violation as soon as it was captured.

You could just leave well enough alone. Or, you could capture and make or find a new home for the pekin and euthanize the hybrid.

We should all support the agencies who are trying to protect the wild duck populations.

An update on my post.
I did figure out whose ducks they are, it’s two houses over from me on the lake. The ducks are still doing well. They stick together and the otters seem to have given up on eating them which was my main worry.
They still look really good, they are still pretty people shy and since they are fed regularly at the house they belong too I just let them be and don’t feed them or try and befriend them. They have taken my lake front as a regular hang out so I enjoy watching them from my back porch.

My understanding is you can have Pekins without a permit and other species like the Black Swedish with a permit but in Orange County limits where I am you aren't permitted to keep any waterfowl in Residential zoning. My area has raccoons but they don’t seem to affect the grown ducks and we don’t have known alligators, it’s a small lake, you never . We have lots of mallards and wood ducks on the lake and lots of other fun water birds so I think they should be safe from nature, more worried about dogs and people or just getting hurt or sick. my property runs along a county run property that has regular visits for checking the water so I don’t think I could keep them very incognito.
I live in Orange County. My son hatched 3 little baby Peking ducks. Can I keep them. If not, where can I send them to?
