Hi welcome to BYC.....terriers have been bred to have a very strong prey drive. I don't know if you can change that. Maybe some terrier owners will have advice for you.

I read the advice in the previous thread. There seems to be hope. I do not want to give my Happy ( Foxy Terrier) away.

Some dogs are food motivated, and some aren't if he needs some reward other than food, that's great, figure it out. Praise should always be Number One anyway, and some will want a special toy, or just more praise.
The big thing is that he won't be safe with your birds by himself, because birds will flutter and scream, and he will go after them again if you aren't right there.
