Pet hen disappeared with no trace?

Sorry if my paragraphs aren’t really making too much sense. I’m really tired at the moment, I’m usually a bit more articulate than this

The door was opened somehow, it was closed when I checked them this afternoon. It is a bit shoddy which is why I lock them up at night. This has happened before though since it has been really windy lately, although not so much today.

There's your answer about the feathers. Wind will blow the few a Fox will leave away.

Don't give up hope. This summer, after my Iowa Blues had been free ranging all afternoon, I called ... and called ... and called, but Squeak didn't show up although Pip came running back to the coop. Minutes later, I was out with the dog, and I saw a mink zip across the road. I was heartbroken; mink had killed three chickens in their coop earlier this year and I was sure the murderer had taken another.

In the morning, as I walked toward their coop, Squeak ran out from under the porch and waited expectantly for her breakfast. Sometimes, chickens defy understanding.

I hope your girl comes back.

I guess so... I could only find one feather across the entire paddock but it was mixed in with a bunch of dirt from when they were scratching before I moved their run
