Pet Loss

I lost my little rooster yesterday. He hasn't been well for two days but my parents didnt believe me. Yesterday he was in front of the fire with water and a little but of feed when one of his eyes closed and wouldn't open then his neck went floppy and he started to breathe with his beak open. We moved him a little bit away from the fire incase he was too hot and then he stated falling over and shaking that's when he stopped breathing. I went outside to get more water for him and when I came back and opened the door I got 'get me an ****** glove he's dead' and the door slammed in my face. My mother was cranky because she had to deal with a dead chicken. He was so small he would fit in my palms.
I'm so sorry for putting it on here because now I feel guilty because of your story you had her for 18 years an I had Dudley for 3 months

I had to put my 15 year old cat, Reba to sleep this summer. She had bronchial carcinoma with metastasis to the toes and she was having a lot of difficulty walking. Near the end, she just stopped eating. It was a really difficult thing to go through.

My vet school has a very awesome pet loss support hotline. I took a class last year and manned the line several times. It's suh a nice judgement-free resource, and you get to talk to awesome vet students! It's been very helpful for many people.
