Yup the first chicken I lost was to my own dogs. I can't really blame the dogs though. Silly chicken was still small enough to slip between the slats in the fence that the dogs are behind. They chased her around and killed her. I wasn't at home at the time and the chickens were out free ranging. I don't let them free range when I am not home any more although, they are too big to get between the slats any more. One of my dogs is a "pound puppy" too. I would be very careful mixing your dogs and chickens.
