I have 4 ducks: 2 khaki's and 2 Pekin's. I have been trying to get them close to me so I have been giving them treat and now finally they let me hand feed them and get excited with I come near them. I still can't get them to let me touch them. If I'm hand feeding them and I just twitch they freak out. I have been hand feeding them for about 4-5 days now. How could I make them more comfortable around me to let me pet them? Also they are only about 2 months old. Thank you.

ducks as an average dont usually let you pet them, saying that i do have a few ducks that enjoyed being held and touched but some of them just dont want any part of that .

just keep doing what you're doing and eventually they probably be comfortable enough for you to pick them up .

It take lots and lots of time. A few days is not going to make them let you pet them. Ducks are naturally afraid of everything because everything wants to eat them. Just keep doing what you are doing but I would not expect them to ever want to be pet or even like it. I've hand raised mine and spend hours with them from day one. 3 tolerate being picked up and 2 hate it. The 2 that hate it will crawl in my lap for treats though but none want me to pet them. Some people do have that ducks that want affection but generally speaking most don't. You are on the right tract and just keep doing what you are doing and go slow.

thank you. I didn't think it would be anytime soon but I was just wondering if I was on the right track.
