Phallus prolapse in drake

My drake Oswald has been prolapsed for a couple of days. I tried separating him from the girls and giving him some swims, but no success. I can't take him to a vet but I can amputate if I need to. It doesn't look like any tissue has died yet so should I wait, or just amputate now? And if I do need to amputate, what are the steps?

Yes try pushing it back in many times before reverting to surgery

Thank you! For some reason I was thinking that wasn't possible and the only treatment I'd found was amputation . How often does it stay in? It wasn't easy and it doesn't seem to be very secure.

You just have to keep trying and keep him away from the girls so he isn't mating. Sometimes letting him soak in a cool tub of water can help if it is swollen But another member really rec the Hydrocortizone ointment not the cream but the ointment. Eventually, you may have to amputate but don't rush into it.

No, but once it is in and stays I have seen it rec to keep him from mating for at least 2-3 weeks.
