My Homemade Leg Bands

Ok so these are homemade/diy chick or chicken leg bands. The only problem is that while your chicken is growing you have to continue changing them, but this goes for most leg bands.
so I made then by taking small or normal colored beads and a small zip tie. I slid some of the beads onto the zip tie and then put it loosely on one of the chicks legs it worked great! i dont know if anyone has already done this but it works wonderfully!! here are some pictures of the beads i used and the chicks wearing them!

I just use plain zip ties...beads might be a good idea for visibility on feathered legs tho...but they seem kind of bulky and might interfere with them settling down on folded legs.

Usually leg bands are used to identify chickens of a certain laying age group or breeding group.

I'm a newbie as well, but since my 7 year old DD loves those Loom Bands, we made our 11 chicks, some out of these, they are pretty stretchy and can be made bigger as they grow older!!! She had fun picking 11 colors out and making them

OR...
when they go to grab and hold a spoon or fork. smoke a cigar, drink a shot of good Booze and relaxing to some chick tunes! Lets not forget when they go to un-zip.
Yes chicks do zip... just look at their shell!
